Superz Budapest Celestial Collection: A Fragrant Orbit of Air, Sugar, and Stardust

Written by Ally Santos

There are collections that feel like concepts, and then there are collections that feel composed with intention from the inside out. The Celestial Collection from Superz Budapest sits firmly in that second category.

Structured as a three-part olfactive journey, it moves from clarity to comfort to creative abstraction. Each fragrance holds its own identity, but together they read like a continuous narrative shaped by distinct perfumery voices.

Unique Blue

The collection opens with air.

Unique Blue captures that meeting point between sky and sea, where freshness feels expansive rather than sharp. Citrus notes lift the opening, while marine facets and salt nuances create movement and depth. A warm base of woods and amber grounds the composition, giving it structure and longevity without weighing it down.

Created by Hüseyin Erdoğmuş, the fragrance reflects his ability to give freshness dimension. Nothing here feels flat or overly synthetic. It is clean, but not sterile. Bright, but still anchored. This is the kind of scent that wears like a second skin with presence, effortless but considered.

Sugar Bowl

If Unique Blue expands outward, Sugar Bowl turns inward.

Created by Özge Altınel, perfumer and Creative Director of EPS Fragrances, this composition is a masterclass in modern gourmand restraint.

On paper, the structure reads indulgent, with notes of strawberry, raspberry, macaron, milk, crème brûlée, coconut, and whipped cream. In execution, it feels controlled and refined. The sweetness is diffused and airy, almost velvety, avoiding the heaviness that often defines gourmand fragrances.

There is a quiet sophistication in how the gourmand elements are handled. Nothing feels sticky or excessive. Instead, the fragrance settles into a soft musky-woody base with cashmeran, creating a skin-like warmth that lingers. Özge’s strength lies in her ability to take a familiar category and elevate it into something that feels polished, emotional, and wearable across contexts.

Space Cake

With Space Cake, the collection reaches its most imaginative point.

Also created by Özge Altınel, this fragrance pushes beyond the comfort of traditional olfactive family into something more conceptual. It takes familiar edible cues and reframes them through contrast, texture, and atmosphere.

It starts with a subtle cannabis accord, giving the opening a slightly green, unexpected edge. As it develops, burnt sugar and gummy candies bring a caramelized sweetness, softened by heliotrope’s powdery touch. The base is where it expands, creamy milk, butter, vanilla sauce, and cookie nuances wrapped in musk, tonka, amber, and a delicate jasmine tea accord. Abstract elements like “space ship” and “powder from the moon” give it an airy, almost surreal finish. There is creaminess, but it is not straightforward. A subtle toasted warmth runs through the composition, suggesting caramelization without becoming dense. Gentle spice flickers at the edges, adding lift and intrigue. As it develops, woods and resinous nuances emerge, giving the fragrance an airy diffusion rather than weight.

What stands out most is the balance. It feels abstract yet wearable, sweet and green that is unpredictable. Özge creates tension within the composition while maintaining cohesion, allowing the fragrance to feel expressive without becoming chaotic. Space Cake reads as an idea translated into scent, shaped by restraint and creative confidence.

The Celestial Collection is shaped by two distinct perfumery approaches that ultimately complement each other. Hüseyin Erdoğmuş brings clarity, structure, and depth to freshness with Unique Blue, while Özge Altınel introduces emotional nuance and textural sophistication through Sugar Bowl and Space Cake. Özge’s contribution, in particular, elevates the collection into something more layered, with her ability to control facets of sweetness, manipulate texture, and create atmosphere without excess adding a refined, contemporary edge that feels aligned with where niche perfumery is heading.
