Neo Vert: Where Fragrance Meets Intelligent Light
Written by Ally Santos
At Beautyworld Middle East 2025 in Dubai (October 27 to 29), EPS Fragrances and the digital art studio Ouchhh presented Neo Vert, a collaborative project that brings together scent, science, and real-time visual interpretation.
The concept was developed by perfumer and creative director Özge Erdoğmuş Altınel, together with media artists Ferdi and Eylül Alıcı. The project introduces Futuristic Green, a new fragrance direction shaped by both natural vitality and technological imagination.
A Living Installation
Neo Vert is shown as an immersive installation. Using EEG-based artificial intelligence (electroencephalogram, a test that measures and records the electrical activity of the brain), the artwork reads the emotional responses of visitors as they smell the perfume. Those reactions are converted into shifting light, shape, and motion displayed in real time. The fragrance and visuals interact as one continuous organism, changing as people engage with it.
“I wanted to create a scent that breathes and responds,” says Özge Erdoğmuş Altınel. “Not just a perfume you wear, but an experience that feels alive with you.”

The Scent
Neo Vert expresses a crystalline, kinetic green freshness. It moves beyond traditional herbal or botanical interpretations, instead offering something weightless and bright, like illuminated air. The result feels fluid and contemporary, a portrait of organic matter interpreted through data and movement.
“For us, data is not numbers,” says Ferdi Alıcı. “It is emotion, memory, reaction. This project allowed us to visualize how scent touches the mind.”
“We think of Neo Vert as a landscape,” adds Altınel. “Fresh, vigorous, and quietly futuristic.”
The Experience at Beautyworld Middle East
Visitors to the EPS Fragrances × Ouchhh space wore an EEG device and were able to smell Neo Vert creation while stepping into a motion graphics environment supported by sound and light. The installation invited guests to listen to their own responses and watch how their presence shapes the artwork in front of them.
An internationally recognized media artist and creative technologist, Ferdi Alıcı works with responsive light and spatial computation. His installations often behave like living structures, shifting in relation to movement, sound, or biometrics.
As Creative Director and Perfumer at EPS Fragrances, Özge Erdoğmuş Altınel represents a contemporary approach to perfumery rooted in material expression, narrative, and cross-disciplinary dialogue. After introducing the Neo-Oriental direction, she continues to explore the future-facing possibilities of scent through Neo Vert.
“Fragrance will always be an emotional language,” she notes. “Neo Vert is a new dialect. One that speaks in color, motion, and presence.”
