Atelier Materi Introduces New Extrait in the Collection: Black Oregano

French perfume house Atelier Materi launches a new perfume in their Extrait collection – Black Oregano. With this release, the house reimagines the aromatic intensity through a striking composition built around oregano, a rare and unexpected raw material that unveils its wild richness and elusive depth, says the press release of Atelier Materi.

From the very first notes, a sharp burst of lime, cardamom, and rosemary strikes with dazzling freshness. At the heart, the warmth rises. Oregano unfolds its aromatic facets, wrapped in the creamy texture of Australian sandalwood and the smoky elegance of vetiver, adding depth and tension.

As it settles, the fragrance deepens. The trail turns darker, denser. Indonesian patchouli, cistus labdanum, and oud wood ground the blend in a woody, leathery sensuality.

Black Oregano is the unexpected encounter of cool and warm, of bright aromatics and enveloping woods. A striking, contrasting composition that reveals the ambivalent beauty of raw material.

“Black Oregano emerges from a bold tension; a raw essence suspended between shadow and light. Oregano, dark and sun-scorched, feel of tanned leather: fierce, primal, evokes the alive. It's a fragrance forged in contrast mineral and sensual, where the dry freshness of aromatics meets the vibrant heat of leather,” says Véronique Le Bihan, the founder of the house.

Crafted by perfumer Céline Perdriel, the new perfume will be available from October 6th.
