Constellation Diamond by Thameen: A Sparkling Starlit Sky in a Bottle

Written by Kristina Kybarataite-Damule

Earlier this year, British fragrance house Thameen introduced Constellation Diamond, a new addition to its Treasure collection inspired by one of the world's most extraordinary gemstones. Carrying the name of a star-cut diamond, the fragrance takes its inspiration from celestial light and the spirit of discovery.

Thameen Constellation Diamond

As someone who has always been fascinated by the stars, the night sky, and everything connected to the cosmos, I was immediately drawn to the name. But my curiosity only grew stronger when I discovered that the fragrance was composed by Jordi Fernández, one of the industry's most celebrated perfumers today, whose creations have impressed thousands of people around the world. Needless to say, my expectations were high.

And Constellation Diamond does not disappoint.

From the very first spray, the fragrance feels radiant and full of energy. It opens with an expressive burst of pink pepper and juicy raspberry that immediately creates a bright, almost champagne-like sparkle. While the raspberry gives the fragrance a playful sweetness, the pink pepper keeps everything vibrant and lively, preventing it from ever becoming overly sugary.

As the fragrance settles, the floral heart slowly takes center stage. Officially built around rose and violet, it is undoubtedly the violet that stands out the most to my nose. It has a soft, powdery elegance that gives the fragrance almost royal character. There is something very sophisticated about it, yet it never feels old-fashioned or overly formal.

One of my favorite aspects of Constellation Diamond is its texture. It somehow manages to feel sparkling and velvety at exactly the same time. There is an airy luminosity running throughout the composition, while a creamy smoothness gently wraps around it, making the fragrance incredibly pleasant to wear. It is a beautiful contrast that perfectly reflects its celestial inspiration.

In the dry down, tonka bean and vanilla create a warm, comforting, ambery base that adds softness without overwhelming the brighter facets of the composition. The sweetness feels measured and contained rather than gourmand.

What I appreciate most about Constellation Diamond is its balance. It effortlessly sits between sweetness and freshness, between playful brightness and quiet elegance. It feels polished without being serious, modern without chasing trends, and luxurious without trying too hard. It is one of those fragrances that can easily transition from daytime to evening, adapting naturally to almost any occasion.

Rather than portraying the darkness of space, Constellation Diamond captures the feeling of looking up at a clear night sky filled with countless shimmering stars. And with this perfume once again proves Jordi Fernández's signature ability to create compositions that feel both contemporary and effortlessly elegant.
