Frédéric Malle to Leave His Own Brand
Frédéric Malle announced yesterday, on Thursday, that he is leaving Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle.
"Today is an important step in my life and in the life of Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, as I have decided to part ways with the company at the end of June," Malle said in a statement.
Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle was founded in 2000. In more than 20 years, more than 50 perfumes were released, including limited editions, collaborating with perfumers like Jean-Claude Ellena, Maurice Roucel, Dominique Ropion and many other.
In 2015, the brand was bought by the Estée Lauder Companies.
Frédéric Malle made a great impact in the niche perfumery, by working closely with the most well-known perfumers and giving them a platform to express themselves. He normalised giving a voice to perfumers behind the fragrances, and writing their names on the bottles.
The founder of the brand did not tell much about his future plans but said that he is confident that The Estée Lauder Companies will ensure the brand’s ongoing success.
